The CTV Olympic Celebration will be coming to Calgary.
The five-city festival will take over Olympic Plaza from 2:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, February 13th.
The event is free and family friendly and will feature a performance by Simple Plan.
Those heading down to Olympic Plaza for the festivities will get to watch the Olympic Winter Games in HD on large video screens.
There will also be winter sport simulators so Calgarians can try their skills at some of the sports featured during The 2010 Winter Games.
This is the first time a cross-country Olympic themed festival has been organized in Canada.
The president of Canada's Olympic Broadcast Consortium says Calgary's Olympic history make this city a natural fit for the festival. "Everyone in Calgary should be incredibly proud of our athletes because one of the reasons that they are there is because of the legacy of 1988," says Keith Pelley.
